James Thomas (Jim) Quillen, 65, who served as a mechanic at Russell M. Horner's garage in Crawfordsville for a number of years died Tuesday night at Culver Hospital. Death was due to a heart attack suffered Tuesday morning while he was at work at the garage. Mr. Quillen who was born April 27, 1890 at Waynetown was the son of Thomas and Minerva Miller Quillen. He was married Oct 5, 1910 to Eva May Beam of Zionsville. Mr. Quillen attended the Wayntown School as a youth and had served as a mechanic residing in Waynetown for many years. He was a long time employee of Mr. Horner and resided at 510 S. Walnut Street in Crawfordsville. Mr. Quillen belonged to the first Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, their son, Gerald Quillen of Maywood, Calif; two daughters, Mrs. Otis Cassida of Kokomo and Mrs. Clyde Cord of New Carlisle, Ohio; two brothers, Walter Quillen of Waynetown and Clare Quillen of Crawfordsville and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Hankins of Crystal Lake, Ohio. One brother, Harry Quillen of Sheridan died in July of last year. Funeral services will be conducted in the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul E. Million, pastor of the First Christian Church as the officiating minister. Burial in Masonic Cemetery, Waynetown.
